A year apart on the TEDxRoxbury stage, Shana Feggins and Angela Pitter came at this from opposite ends.
Shana Feggins, in Rewriting AI's Future for All, looked at the people behind the machine: who builds AI, whose perspectives shape its choices, and what happens when human blind spots make their way into systems increasingly used for hiring, lending, healthcare, and other consequential decisions. Her warning: AI has no morals. Humans do.
Angela Pitter looked beneath it, at the information AI has to work with. Her talk, AI and Digital Erasure: The New Redlining We're Not Talking About, asks what happens when the people, businesses, and whole communities AI should know about are missing, poorly represented, or difficult for these systems to find and verify.
They ended up asking the same question:
Who does AI see, who does it leave out, and what happens when you're missing from the answer?
Sometimes AI has information about you and gets the story wrong. Sometimes the evidence it needs to see you clearly isn't there. As AI increasingly shapes what gets discovered, recommended, and funded, that difference matters.

- Angela Pitter — Founder and CEO, LiveWire Collaborative. Angela spent 25 years in global technology leadership before founding LiveWire Collaborative in 2012, a Greater Boston advisory firm that helps business and nonprofit leaders close the gap between the authority they have earned and the evidence AI systems can find and verify. Her client work has included Harvard's Houghton Library, Meet Boston, and Redgate, and she has trained more than 5,000 leaders on responsible AI use and executive presence. Angela has served on the board of the Charles River Regional Chamber since 2018 and as its Chair since January 2025, leading the fourth largest chamber of commerce in Massachusetts, which represents more than 1,300 businesses and nonprofits. Her 2026 TEDxRoxbury talk, AI and Digital Erasure, was one of 13 selected from more than 300 applications. She is a two-time Boston University graduate and a 2021 Commonwealth Heroine.
- Shana Feggins — Executive Strategist and Co-Founder, catalyst noir. In Big Four consulting, Shana advises leaders on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, culture, and transformation as their organizations absorb new technology. She teaches AI, digital trust, and personal branding through the National Black MBA Association's leadership development program, and graduate corporate communications at George Washington University. Through catalyst noir, which she co-founded, she supports underrepresented founders, and she holds board leadership roles with We Make Noise and United Women in Business Foundation. A registered yoga teacher trained in mindfulness and somatics, she brings a multidisciplinary lens to how people and organizations navigate technological change. Her TEDxRoxbury talk, Rewriting AI's Future for All, examines human responsibility in shaping what AI becomes, and she has spoken across the U.S. and internationally, including DisruptHR Austin and Boston, NYC and Toronto Tech Week, DiversiTech, and Boston While Black.
