PROCLAMATION
Whereas,
Artificial intelligence is reshaping how Bostonians learn, work, receive health care, conduct business, and access public services, creating opportunities for innovation and economic mobility while requiring responsible, ethical, and human-centered use; AND
Whereas,
Boston’s universities, hospitals, research institutions, businesses, startups, nonprofits, and community organizations have long made the city a global center of discovery and entrepreneurship, positioning Boston to advance artificial intelligence in ways that expand opportunity and serve the public good; AND
Whereas,
Boston AI Week is a community-organized festival centered in Boston’s Seaport and extending across Massachusetts, convening residents, students, workers, educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, employers, and civic leaders through conferences, workshops, career programs, demonstrations, cultural gatherings, and public education initiatives; AND
Whereas,
In 2026, Boston AI Week spans six weeks from September 16 through October 28, with its core festival taking place from September 24 through October 2, welcoming participants from across Massachusetts and international delegations from around the world; AND
Whereas,
Boston AI Week supports AI literacy, workforce development, civic dialogue, international exchange, and responsible innovation, helping Bostonians gain knowledge, build relationships, and connect to career pathways in an evolving economy; NOW
Therefore,
I, Michelle Wu, Mayor of the City of Boston, do hereby declare September 24, 2026, to be:
Boston AI Week
in the City of Boston
I urge all my fellow Bostonians to join me in honoring Boston AI Week’s contributions to the betterment of the City of Boston.
