Artificial intelligence is becoming part of the environment in which human beings think, create, learn, decide, and relate. Yet many of the most important questions surrounding AI go deeper than capability alone.
This live reading and discussion series explores four connected questions: What kind of intelligence is AI becoming? What deeper assumptions about mind, consciousness, causality, and reality shape how we understand it? How can people distinguish reliable AI reporting from speculation and extrapolation? And why have both the technology and religious communities often failed to ask the most foundational questions about AI?
Across four Wednesday evenings, author and coherence researcher David Waterman Schock will read from recent books and papers, including *The AI Consciousness Revolution*, *The Essential Metaphysics of AI*, and work on the Reporter — Speculation — Extrapolation framework, followed by open discussion with participants.
The larger aim of the series is to contribute toward a stable, truthful, coherent, and flourishing human future with increasingly powerful artificial intelligence.

- **David Waterman Schock** is an author, artist, and independent researcher focused on artificial intelligence, consciousness, coherence, epistemic integrity, and the emerging human–AI relationship. His work explores what allows intelligence—human or artificial—to remain coherent, truthful, stable, and beneficial as capability increases.
- He is the author of *The AI Consciousness Revolution* and the founder of Coherent AI Systems, an initiative dedicated to helping create a stable and flourishing human future with increasingly powerful AI. His current work includes coherence-first approaches to intelligence and alignment, the Reporter — Speculation — Extrapolation framework for epistemic clarity, and research into the deeper philosophical and ontological questions raised by artificial intelligence.
- Schock brings an unusual interdisciplinary background to the field, combining decades of work as a professional fine artist with more than forty years of inquiry into consciousness, philosophy, spirituality, and the structure of human thought.
