African Women Building With AI is a virtual summit created to help African women across the continent and diaspora use artificial intelligence safely, confidently, and profitably in business, careers, community work, and everyday life. This four-hour event will bring together women working across AI, business, healthcare, education, technology, leadership, and community development. Through practical talks, demonstrations, guided discussions, and real-world examples, attendees will learn how to move from simply hearing about AI to applying it in ways that address their actual needs and goals. The summit will explore: • Practical ways to use AI at work, in business, and in everyday life • How women can build AI-supported services, products, and income opportunities • Responsible AI use, including privacy, bias, safety, and human oversight • Career opportunities and skills needed for an AI-shaped workforce • How African women can help shape the future of AI—not only consume it • Ways to build relationships and collaborations across Africa and the diaspora Attendees will leave with clearer knowledge of what AI can and cannot do, practical ideas they can apply immediately, and connections to women building with AI in different fields and regions. This event is designed for entrepreneurs, professionals, students, educators, healthcare workers, community leaders, creators, consultants, and women who are curious about AI but may not consider themselves technical. No coding or prior AI experience is required. African Women Building With AI supports Boston AI Week’s 2026 theme, “AI in Business and in Life,” by expanding access to practical AI education and bringing African and diaspora perspectives into the wider Massachusetts AI community.
