SUMMARY:Project Management in the Age of AI
DESCRIPTION:Many people manage project work every day without calling the
mselves project managers. Entrepreneurs manage launches\, customers\, sup
 pliers\, money\, schedules\, purchases\, priorities\, and people. Manager
 s coordinate teams\, deadlines\, resources\, vendors\, and changing requi
rements.\nThis 90-minute workshop helps participants recognize the projec
t management work already inside their jobs and businesses\, then gives t
hem a lightweight set of management disciplines for doing that work more
deliberately.\nAI is used as a practical thought partner to clarify goals
 \, organize work\, challenge assumptions\, identify risks\, prepare commu
nications\, and support better decisions. The emphasis is on better manag
ement\, not on learning a collection of AI tricks.\nIS THIS SESSION FOR Y
OU?\nIf any two of these are part of your work\, this session is for you.
\nDo you manage:\n- People or teams?\n- Schedules or deadlines?\n- Vendor
 s\, contractors\, or outside partners?\n- Budgets\, procurement\, or purc
 hases?\n- Tasks\, deliverables\, or competing priorities?\n- Resources\,
 equipment\, or logistics?\n- Risks\, changes\, dependencies\, or unexpect
ed problems?\nIf two or more apply\, you are already managing project wor
k\, whether or not “Project Manager” appears in your title.\nFor entrepre
neurs and small-business owners: If you are running the business yourself
\, nobody else is automatically project managing the work for you. You ar
 e already coordinating priorities\, money\, suppliers\, customers\, sched
ules\, decisions\, and execution.\nThe question is not whether you manage
projects. The question is whether you are managing that work deliberatel
 y\, consistently\, and with the right support.\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\nBy the
end of the session\, participants will be able to:\n- Define a clear out
come and success criteria for a piece of work.\n- Break work into tasks\,
  owners\, dates\, priorities\, and dependencies.\n- Identify basic risks\
, assumptions\, issues\, and decision points.\n- Run more useful meetings
and convert discussion into decisions and actions.\n- Communicate status
clearly and know when to escalate.\n- Use AI to support planning\, organ
 ization\, analysis\, communication\, and review.\n- Recognize where human
judgment and accountability still matter most.\nPARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE\n
This is a practical workshop. A small-business scenario will be used for
demonstrations\, then participants will repeat each step using one real p
iece of their own work so they leave with something they can use immediat
ely.\nParticipants will see how the same lightweight management system ca
 n be used for a product launch\, client project\, internal initiative\, e
 vent\, vendor engagement\, operational improvement\, or other real work.\
nAI is introduced inside the workflow\, not as a separate topic.\nHIGH-LE
VEL SESSION OUTLINE\n1. Recognize the project work already in your job\n
   - People\, deadlines\, vendors\, budgets\, tasks\, resources\, and chan
ge\n - Why basic project management is a management skill\, not only a
job title\n2. Start with the outcome\n - Define success and clarify wha
t actually needs to happen\n - Use AI to clarify vague requests and mis
 sing information\n3. Organize the work\n - Tasks\, owners\, dates\, pri
orities\, and dependencies\n - Use AI to challenge the plan and identif
 y gaps\n4. Manage uncertainty\n - Risks\, assumptions\, issues\, depend
 encies\, and change\n - Use AI as a structured second set of eyes\n5. K
 eep people aligned\n - Meetings\, actions\, status\, decisions\, and es
 calation\n - Use AI to summarize\, prepare\, and tailor communication\n
 6. Apply the system\n - Build a lightweight management plan\n - Trans
fer the method to the participant’s own work\nDETAILED 90-MINUTE SESSION
OUTLINE\n0 to 10 minutes | You Are Probably Already Managing Projects\n-
 Complete a self-check covering people\, schedules\, vendors\, budgets\, p
urchases\, tasks\, resources\, and risks.\n- Select one real piece of wor
k to use throughout the session.\n- Explore why entrepreneurs and manager
s already do project work.\n- Review the demonstration scenario: a three-
person service business launching a new offer with an outside vendor.\n10
to 25 minutes | Define the Outcome\n- State the desired result in clear
 terms.\n- Define success criteria.\n- Clarify boundaries\, stakeholders\,
constraints\, and assumptions.\n- Use AI to turn a vague business reques
 t into a clearer brief.\n- Write a one-sentence outcome and three success
criteria for your own piece of work.\n25 to 40 minutes | Organize the Wo
rk\n- Break the outcome into tasks and deliverables.\n- Assign owners.\n-
  Add dates\, priorities\, dependencies\, and decision points.\n- Use AI t
o review a draft plan for gaps and unclear ownership.\n- Build a five-lin
e action plan covering tasks\, owners\, and dates for your own work.\n40
 to 55 minutes | Manage Risks\, Assumptions\, and Change\n- Identify what
could go wrong.\n- Separate assumptions from facts.\n- Decide what requir
es action\, monitoring\, or escalation.\n- Use AI to challenge assumption
 s and generate a first-pass risk review.\n- Run a quick pre-mortem on you
r own work and identify the top three potential causes of failure.\n55 to
  70 minutes | Meetings\, Communication\, and Decisions\n- Run meetings ar
ound decisions and actions.\n- Capture owners\, actions\, due dates\, and
decisions.\n- Build a useful status update.\n- Escalate with context and
options.\n- Use AI to turn rough notes into decisions\, actions\, risks\
, and a concise update.\n- Draft a three-line status update and one escal
 ation covering the context\, options\, and request.\n70 to 85 minutes | I
ntegrated Exercise: Manage SMARTer\nParticipants will assemble the pieces
above into a one-page management plan for their own real work\, includin
 g:\n- Outcome\n- Key tasks\n- Owners\n- Dates\n- Risks and assumptions\n-
  Dependencies\n- Decisions required\n- Status communication\n- Next actio
n\nAI will be used as a thought partner to review the plan\, challenge as
 sumptions\, and improve clarity.\n85 to 90 minutes | Close and Transfer\n
 - Recap the lightweight management disciplines.\n- Identify one practice
to apply immediately.\n- Reinforce the principle that AI can strengthen t
he work\, but the manager remains accountable.\n- Final questions.\nDELIV
ERY AND PARTICIPATION\n- Delivery platform: Zoom\n- Session length: 90 mi
 nutes\n- Style: Interactive presentation\, demonstrations\, guided exerci
ses\, and discussion\n- Participant prerequisites: None\n- Recommended pa
rticipant setup: Access to ChatGPT or another general-purpose AI assistan
t is helpful for hands-on participation but is not required.\n- Technical
