 ion required\nEligibility: Ages 18+\nCode & Counsel’s Legal AI Community 
 Hackathon: Building Common Ground is a three-hour public-interest design 
 sprint focused on how artificial intelligence\, paired with legal knowled
 ge and meaningful human review\, can help address everyday legal and admi
 nistrative challenges facing underserved communities.\n\nParticipants fro
 m legal\, technology\, product\, design\, public service\, and community 
 backgrounds are welcome. No coding experience is required. Attendees may 
 register individually and be assigned to a team or register with others. 
 Teams of four to five participants will develop a practical concept\, wor
 kflow\, prototype\, or demonstration aimed at making legal information\, 
 processes\, or services easier to understand and navigate.\n\nProjects ma
 y explore issues such as housing stability\, employment and income\, cons
 umer protection\, public benefits\, access to essential services\, docume
 nt organization\, deadline awareness\, and connections to qualified legal
  or community assistance. Each team will be asked to identify where AI ca
 n help\, where legal knowledge is required\, and where a lawyer\, advocat
 e\, caseworker\, or other human professional must remain involved.\n\n*Th
 is is not a legal clinic\, and participants should not bring confidential
  client information\, active case files\, or personally identifiable info
 rmation. All projects should use fictional\, synthetic\, de-identified\, 
 public\, or properly licensed materials.
