SUMMARY:ClawBio\, developing your own genomic agent from scratch
DESCRIPTION:One day. Real genomic questions. Build agents that do useful
scientific work\, then show the room what they found.\n\nAI agents can p
lan multi-step work\, call tools\, run analyses and recover from failure.
Biology is where that gets hard: results must be reproducible\, evidence
must be traceable\, and an agent must know when it cannot support a clai
m.\n\nClawBio is open-source infrastructure for that work. Its versioned
skills make an agent's methods inspectable\, reproducible and open to ch
allenge.\n\nBoston is modelled on the latest ClawBio hackathon in Berlin
\, with the format improved using what we learned there: setup before arr
ival\, one clear help route\, faster team formation and more protected bu
ild time.\n\nEverything runs through Slack\nThe ClawBio Slack community
is where we work before\, during and after the event. Register for the e
vent to receive access for setup\, introductions\, team formation\, help\
, demos and follow-up. The join link is not posted publicly.\n\n#boston-
 general: introductions\, announcements\, timetable and resources\n\n#bos
 ton-help: the single route for setup\, access\, data\, tool and testing p
 roblems\n\n#boston-teams: ideas\, team formation\, challenge selection a
nd working links\n\n#boston-demos: demos\, evidence\, limitations and wh
at happens next\n\nRegistered participants will receive a short technica
l preflight through Slack. Complete it before arrival so that the day can
be spent building.\n\nWhat you will build\nChoose a published challeng
e brief or bring a biological question that we can scope with you. Challe
nge directions include:\n\nEnd the diagnostic odyssey\n\nBuild a cancer
target you would defend\n\nAsk whose genome a method fails on\n\nBring
your own question\n\nYour team will build an agent that can do useful s
cientific work\, expose its evidence and state what it cannot claim. A Gi
tHub contribution is welcome when it fits the project\, but the day is ab
out useful work and learning\, not chasing a pull request count.\n\nWhat
you get\nA full day focused on one real scientific problem\n\nA team o
f four to five people formed around shared interests\n\nPractical suppor
t with ClawBio\, agent workflows and reproducible bioinformatics\n\nA ch
ance to demo what you built and make the evidence visible\n\nA community
workspace that remains active after the event\n\nWho should come\nBioi
nformaticians and computational biologists\n\nGenomics researchers and c
linical scientists\n\nSoftware engineers and research software engineers
\n\nMachine learning practitioners interested in scientific agents\n\nS
tudents\, founders and builders with a serious biological question\n\nNo
previous ClawBio or AI coding-agent experience is required. You should b
e comfortable reading or running code. Bring a laptop and charger. Teams
will be formed on the day.\n\nProgramme\n09:00 Doors open and community
introductions\n\n09:20 Welcome: genomics in an agentic world\n\n09:40

 llow-up\n\nPractical details\nFriday 25 September 2026\, 09:00 to 16:00
  EDT\n\nBroad Institute | 300B\n\n300 Binney St\, Cambridge\, MA 02142\
n\nRegistration is required. Only public or synthetic data may be used d
uring the hackathon.\n\nOrganised by Manuel Corpas and Mohammad Tanhaema
mi.\n\nSponsors and community partners\nWe welcome a small number of sp
onsors who can help cover food and drinks for the 120-person room and con
tribute prizes or model credits for participants. Support must benefit th
e community and does not control the scientific content. Contact the orga
nisers through Luma if your organisation can help.
